Our Story
Every great baseball player has a story. Every community has a field where memories were made. And every generation deserves a place to experience the joy of the game.
The Sandlots was created from a simple belief: baseball has the power to bring people together.
Across our communities, too many neighborhood ballfields have fallen into disrepair. Places that were once filled with the sounds of cheering families, pickup games, and lifelong friendships have become overlooked and underused. We saw an opportunity to change that.
Our mission is to restore, improve, and preserve community baseball fields so they remain places where children can learn, families can gather, and communities can thrive. Every project we take on is about more than dirt, grass, and fences—it's about creating opportunities, building character, and keeping the tradition of baseball alive.
The name "The Sandlots" represents more than a place to play. It represents the values that have always made baseball special: teamwork, respect, perseverance, sportsmanship, and community. It's where kids learn to support one another, overcome challenges, and create memories they'll carry for the rest of their lives.
As a nonprofit organization, we rely on the generosity of volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community partners who share our vision. Together, we work to improve fields, expand opportunities for young athletes, and create welcoming spaces where everyone feels they belong.
Whether you're a player, parent, coach, volunteer, local business, or baseball fan, you're an important part of this story. Every hour volunteered, every donation made, and every partnership formed helps create a lasting impact for future generations.
We're not just restoring baseball fields.
We're restoring community, creating opportunity, and building places where dreams begin.
Thank you for being part of The Sandlots story.
